At Demystified Mental Health, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is offered in a way that honors your whole system—mind, body, and nervous system—and meets you exactly where you are. Sessions are spacious, gently guided, and deeply collaborative. No two are exactly alike, but they are all built around safety, attunement, and trust.
A typical KAP session begins with grounding and intention setting, helping your system orient and prepare for the experience. Once the medicine is taken (in lozenge form, prescribed by our collaborating psychiatrist), you’ll be supported in settling into a relaxed state—often lying down, with eyes closed and optional music. As the medicine takes effect, your therapist remains present throughout, offering quiet support or gentle guidance when needed. You are never alone.
The medicine experience itself typically lasts about 45–60 minutes. During this time, you may encounter images, emotions, memories, or somatic sensations that feel unfamiliar or revealing. You’re encouraged to stay curious, letting the process unfold without needing to make sense of it right away.
After the peak experience, there’s time for integration—the essential phase where we begin to give language and shape to what emerged. This may include processing insights, exploring sensations, or simply noticing what feels different. Integration continues in follow-up sessions, where we help your nervous system metabolize and apply the experience in your everyday life.
Whether you are engaging in a single session or a structured series of journeys, each step is approached with care, presence, and deep respect for your inner wisdom.
