Who is Ketamine For

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is a powerful and promising option for those who feel stuck in their healing journey—particularly individuals navigating treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, or other longstanding emotional patterns that haven’t responded to traditional talk therapy or medication alone. It can also support those managing anxiety, grief, chronic stress, or a sense of emotional numbness or disconnection.

What makes ketamine unique is its ability to shift mental and emotional states in a way that creates space for new insight, emotional processing, and nervous system regulation. At Demystified Mental Health, KAP is always approached through a somatic and trauma-informed lens, meaning your body’s cues, boundaries, and readiness guide the process. The medicine opens a window—and the therapeutic relationship, combined with integrative support, helps you make meaning of what arises.

KAP may not be a fit for everyone. It is not recommended for individuals with a history of certain psychiatric conditions such as active psychosis, untreated bipolar disorder (type I), or significant substance use concerns. It’s also not a substitute for crisis stabilization or emergency mental health support. Each person considering ketamine therapy will complete a thorough medical and psychological screening process with both our psychiatric partner and your therapist to ensure it’s a safe and supportive option for you.

If you're curious but unsure, you're not alone. This is tender and courageous work. We’re here to help you explore whether this path could be part of your healing journey.
