At Demystified Mental Health, our approach to Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is rooted in the belief that true healing happens through the body—not just the mind.
While insight and reflection are important, they often aren’t enough on their own—especially for those who’ve experienced trauma, chronic stress, or long-term emotional pain. That’s because trauma doesn’t just live in our thoughts. It lives in the nervous system, in the body’s protective responses, and in patterns we may not even realize we’re carrying.
This is where somatic and nervous system-based work comes in. These tools help us listen to what the body is saying beneath the words—tightness in the chest, a held breath, a surge of energy, or a feeling of collapse. By learning to gently track these signals, we can begin to re-regulate the nervous system, shift survival-based patterns, and create the safety needed for meaningful change.
When combined with ketamine, this approach becomes even more powerful. The medicine can soften the defenses that normally keep us from feeling what’s underneath, while somatic therapy helps contain, process, and integrate whatever arises. We don’t just chase catharsis—we create an experience that is attuned, titrated, and trauma-informed.
This work is about slowing down, coming back into relationship with your body, and learning that healing doesn’t mean fixing—it means reconnecting. Your body already knows how to move toward wholeness. We’re here to help you listen.
