Tell me more...

Jane Tastet, MA, LCMHCA

 I'm Jane.

My work begins with the belief that there’s nothing wrong with you. The ways you think, feel, or cope make perfect sense in the context of what you’ve lived through. I don’t approach therapy as a process of fixing, but as one of understanding—helping you see your patterns and pain with compassion instead of shame. Together, we’ll make sense of your experiences through the lens of your nervous system, your history, and your humanity.

I work best with people who’ve tried therapy before and left feeling unseen, or those who don’t usually like the idea of therapy at all. Many of my clients are high achievers—attorneys, executives, first responders, and other professionals used to performing under pressure—who find themselves burned out, anxious, or disconnected from what once mattered. Others have spent years people-pleasing or masking, learning to stay safe by staying small.

My approach integrates somatic and neuroscience-based modalities like Polyvagal Theory, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing, along with humor, honesty, and depth. I bring over 100 hours of advanced training in complex trauma recovery and a deep respect for the intelligence of the nervous system.

Therapy with me is spacious, collaborative, and real. It’s a place to reconnect with yourself—to rediscover steadiness, authenticity, and the sense of freedom that comes when shame no longer gets to tell the story.

Psychotherapy

Therapy with me is a collaborative process of making sense of your experience—without shame, without labels, and without rushing your process. Together, we explore how your patterns of thinking, feeling, and reacting have developed as intelligent responses to the life you’ve lived. From that place of understanding, new possibilities for healing and choice begin to emerge.

My approach draws from somatic and neuroscience-based practices including Polyvagal Theory, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing. These methods help us work directly with your nervous system to restore balance, build capacity, and reconnect you with your natural sense of steadiness and authenticity.

I specialize in supporting adults navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, perfectionism, or the feeling of having to “hold it all together.” Whether you’re a high achiever, a chronic caregiver, or someone simply trying to feel more at home in yourself, therapy offers space to slow down, breathe, and uncover the resilience that’s already there.

Intensives

Sometimes the healing work you need can’t fit into a single 50-minute session. Therapy intensives offer extended, focused time—often 2–4 hours—to dive deeper into what’s coming up for you, with space to slow down, process, and integrate in real time.

In these sessions, we may work with somatic and nervous-system-based approaches, including Brainspotting and Somatic Experiencing, to help you release stuck patterns and connect more fully with your body and emotions. When appropriate and desired, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy can be incorporated to support breakthroughs and integration at a deeper level.

Intensives are ideal for clients navigating trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, or high-stress life circumstances who want meaningful progress in a concentrated format. Each session is collaborative, paced according to your nervous system, and designed to create a safe, contained, and transformative experience.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a powerful, evidence-informed therapy approach that helps you access and process deep, often unconscious experiences stored in your nervous system. By identifying specific “brainspots,” we can work directly with the body and mind to release trauma, stuck patterns, or intense emotional responses that traditional talk therapy alone may not reach.

I often integrate Brainspotting with somatic practices and nervous-system awareness to create a safe, contained space for exploration and healing. This approach is particularly effective for processing trauma, anxiety, or high-stress experiences, and for clients who want a therapy experience that moves beyond talking to actively working with the body and mind together.
