It's not an escape, it's a return.

Digging Deeper

Is Ketamine Safe

When used thoughtfully, in the right setting, and under proper supervision, ketamine is considered a safe and well-tolerated medicine for many people. It has a long history of use in medical settings and, more recently, growing research supports its effectiveness for mental health treatment—especially when paired with psychotherapy.

At Demystified Mental Health, your safety—physically, emotionally, and neurologically—is our top priority. We partner with a trusted local psychiatrist, Dr. Daniel Tan of Triad Mental Health Partners, who carefully screens each client to determine medical and psychiatric appropriateness for treatment. Only after this thorough evaluation do we begin the therapeutic ketamine journey.

During your sessions, you are never alone. Your therapist is present the entire time, offering grounding support and monitoring your experience closely. We create a safe and calming environment to help your nervous system stay regulated throughout the process. Most clients report mild, short-lived side effects such as nausea, dizziness, or dissociation during the active phase, but these typically resolve quickly and are carefully managed.

Ketamine is not physically addictive, and when used in a structured and time-limited therapeutic container—as we do here—it is not a recreational or escape-based treatment. It is a catalyst for insight, emotional movement, and deeper integration when held in the right way.

Safety also includes knowing when ketamine is not the right fit. KAP is not recommended for individuals with a history of psychosis, certain heart conditions, or untreated bipolar disorder (Type I). We will always talk through these considerations transparently and help guide you toward other options if needed.

This is brave work. We are here to make sure you feel resourced, prepared, and supported every step of the way.
